As musician, producer and designer, Fujiwara launched Fragment Design, a label that has collaborated with Nike, Supreme, Converse, Takashi Murakami and even designed a guitar for Eric Clapton.

Tell us about the Fragment and Moncler collaboration.

I’ve been doing this for a year already, it is my third Moncler Genius collection. I’m really enjoying doing it because every time is a new challenge.

What was Moncler’s brief?

We had a couple of themed briefs first time and then we talked about the essence of winter clothes about the mountain which I love as I am a snowboarder! I really felt the freedom to do what I like respecting and starting from the Moncler DNA.

Where do you go?

I usually love to ski in Japan but sometimes I also go to Alaska.

What attracts you to Moncler?

Moncler has a kind of technique, a specialty for winter clothes which I’ve never experimented with. I’m trying to mix together things I’ve never done. It makes the collaboration exciting and challenging and I am really very proud about the result!

What are the standout pieces in the collection?

For this collection I did some kind of vintage military looks with a Moncler technique using down pack which I really love!

What’s your direction for the event?

For the event I wanted to do an eternal tunnel, like outer space with water. So mixing technology with analogue or nature — forest, sea and water.
